Puckish

To some the word “urban” can give the connotation of something being rough around the edges or even grungy but the inspiration that Eric and Jesse derive from their urban lifestyle translates into just the opposite. “Puckish” is synonymous with fresh, playful and flirtatious so it is appropriate that the newest line to our store of graphic tees (hoodies and tanks too) and bags hold that name. I wish I had known of Puckish when I was shopping for my Europe trip last year. I would have bought one of everything and layered for a much more stylish look than I had and probably would have been more comfortable too! They had me at “blox”. Really they did. For some reason when I first heard the name, I just knew whatever it was that they made would be cool…and it is!

Lori Reynolds and Magdalena Kubik are the dynamic duo behind the blox line of contemporary tile jewelry. Their background in interior design definitely shines through in each piece of jewelry where there is a strong emphasis on material, composition, color and form. Using products often found in architecture such as glass and metal tiles, each creation is both delicate and strong in appearance. Modern yet classis is yet another way I would describe the line of wearable art that is blox which leads me to believe that even though the collaboration is a mere two years old, they are here to stay.

Karen and Kelly are the twin sister duo behind Donda Designs. Men’s ties are their medium of choice for their attention getting, one-of-a-kind bags and what an interesting one that is. I’ve seen this attempted elsewhere with less than impressive results but the Donda Designs bags are spot on with their simple and sturdy design. In three different sizes and styles – Mini Tote, Medium Tote and Messenger – there is a bag to meet everyone’s needs.

Theresa Fong is the designer extraordinaire behind Otsutree who believes “graphic design is everywhere, touching everything we do, everything we see, everything we buy.” Her ambition, “to communicate visual ideas on wearable canvases so others can be inspired by the surrealist and abstract nature of her designs.” Well, mission accomplished Theresa because “inspired” we are. I mean really, for example - the graphic on the Bazooka tee …soldiers crouched, bazooka in hand, but instead of bullets, butterflies are flying out the end… Enough said right!? At the start of this blog, there were high hopes of daily postings…HA! Well that’s still a goal but in the meantime, the fact that we’ve been missing in action for over a week now is somewhat of a good thing. Lots going on… Most of it is top secret right now but until then we’ve got more “new junk” on the site for your buying pleasure!

First up, a fresh batch of goodies from Spongy Feet! Sara (the genius behind Spongy Feet) has been selling her fabulous baby goods with us for some time now and there’s a reason for that. You love it and we love it, it’s as simple as that. Her burp cloths and blankets are the bee’s knees, and now to add to that excellence we’re also carrying her bibs! Sara sets her collection apart by using unique vintage and retro inspired fabrics. She then backs each item with sumptuous chenille to create not only adorable but functional items as well. I could obviously go on and on but why don’t you just see for yourself.

Sadly (blushing) we hadn’t really even thought to keep track of them until now so the page is sparse but sure to grow! And just so you know, we’re not trying to brag, really we’re not, but when we get feedback like this (such as the customer comments below) we can’t help but shout it from the rooftops.
